Danielle Yantis - Danielle is the new Registered Dietitian at the clnic. She began
seeing patients regarding nutritional issues on August 11. Danielle received her
Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo in 1991. She furthered
her education at San Jose State where she earned a Master of Science in Nutrition.
Her area of expertise is in geriatric nutrition of which most of her experience was
gained working in rehabilitation hospitals throughout the Bay Area. Much of her work
involved helping patients with swallowing difficulties, diabetes, cardiovascular disease
and kidney failure.
She has a special interest in food safety and had the pleasure of working with
the Santa Clara County Environmental Health Department on improving their food safety
inspections as a Master's Thesis project. Danielle also worked at Dominican Hospital Santa
Cruz, California for 18 months and then decided to focus on childhood nutrition
to round out her experience.
Her last job, before having two beautiful children, was
at San Jose Unified School District - child nutrition program. She is delighted to be
back in her childhood town and hopes to give back to the community that gave her a start.
