Scott McFarland CEO, MINERS |
Scott McFarland, Chief Executive Officer, MFHC – Scott’s primary responsibility is to carry out the
strategic plans and policies as established by the Board of Directors. Scott works with his management
team to set direction and oversee the day to day operations of Miners Family Health Center and any of
its affiliate programs. Scott obtained his Bachelors degree in Clinical Psychology from Long Beach State
in 1990, his Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in 1992, and his Masters
in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 1996. While studying for his MBA, Scott
worked as a Medical Social Worker at Fremont-Rideout Health Group. Soon after graduation, Scott was
promoted to the position of Executive Director at Peach Tree Clinic where he spent the next four years.

 MARK LANG, ESQ. COO, WSMC |
Chief Operations Officer, WSMC - Mark is responsible for
the compliance and business operations of WSMC. Mark grew up in
Downieville and graduated from Downieville High School in 1989. He
obtained a B.S. in Political Science and Minor in History from Santa Clara
University in 1993. After college he worked at Hewlett Packard in Business
Development in the Analytical Division. In 1997, he graduated from Law
School at the University of North Dakota. While at UND he was student
director for a legal clinic at the Spirit Lake Nation Reservation. He moved to
Astoria, Oregon after graduating from law school. He then worked as
community liaison at the Women's Resource Center and developed a multi-
agency response team to incidents of Domestic Violence. He then opened a
general law practice. It was there when an opportunity developed at the
Clatsop County District Attorney's Office. Mark was a prosecutor for over 9
years. He handled cases involving homicides, assaults, DUI's, firearms,
drugs and white collar crime and identity theft. He is licensed to practice law in
both Oregon and Washington and is currently working on obtaining his
California Bar License. |
 CAROLYN SEYLER, RN

Director of Nursing - Carolyn works with our Collaborative Partners
to enrich and unify our programs. She will oversee the sharing of administration tasks,
electronic implementation of patient charts, and other quality improvements. Carolyn
received her B.S. from the University of San Francisco School of Nursing and earned
her M.S. in Computer Applications in Nursing Practice from San Francisco State University.
Her professional career has always been a combination of clinical nursing, teaching
and administration. Her areas of expertise are in Licensing and Certification,
Regulatory Compliance and Quality Management. She is a California licensed
administrator for Skilled Nursing Home Administration and is certified in
Residential Care. |
 Eileen Nuss, MFHC |
Nursing Supervisor - Eileen is responsible for Miners clinical operations.
In addition to hiring, training, and supervising back-office-staff, she assures compliance with state and
federal regulations. Eileen works with Miners’ Quality Assurance Committee to give every patient the
best possible care.
Eileen received her RN in 1954 from Mary’s Help College of Nursing in San Francisco. Her years of nursing
practice were spent in situations as diverse as bedside nursing in an
1100 bed Army hospital and a 20 bed hospital in rural Oregon, back office in a small medical practice in Juneau,
Alaska, and the Materials Management department in a 300 bed hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. Eileen’s goal is
to make Miners the best medical office in the best place to live in California.

Clinic Office Manager - Downieville - C.C. manages many of the
business/administrative responsibilities for both the Dental and Medical
offices. Prior to her appointment as Administrative Assistant, she had been
working with WSMC for ten years in the capacity of Front Office Coordinator.
C.C. provides needed expertise in all areas of office services here. |
Francine Admin Asst. |
Administrative Assistant - Francine is the Clinic and Human Resources Manager. Francine is primarily
responsible for the day to day operations of Miners ensuring that the citizen’s of Nevada County receive
consistent quality health care. In 1992, Francine graduated Heald Business College with a degree in
Accounting. Francine moved to Nevada County in 1994 and began her career in the health care industry
through the local Adult Day Health Care Program. She brings 10 years experience in leadership and
human resources.
